Paper Size Reference

Look up A and US paper sizes in mm, inches, points and pixels.

Page setup dialogs, PDF specifications and design tools all measure paper differently, which makes a simple question like how many pixels wide is A5 surprisingly annoying. This reference lists the common A series and North American sizes with their dimensions in millimetres, inches and PDF points, plus the pixel dimensions at whatever resolution you enter. Set 300 dpi for print artwork or 96 dpi for screen mock-ups and the table updates instantly. Keep it open while you configure a template so margins and bleed are calculated from the right base numbers rather than from memory.

How to use the Paper Size Reference

  1. Enter the resolution you are working at, in dots per inch.
  2. Find your paper size in the table.
  3. Use the millimetre, point or pixel column that your software expects.
