This estimator counts the words in your text and divides them by a pace you set, defaulting to 225 words a minute for silent reading. Lower the pace to around 140 words a minute for something that will be read aloud, or raise it for a technical audience skimming familiar material. Results appear as minutes and seconds plus the raw word count, so you can trim with a target in mind. The calculation is instant and stays inside your browser.
